Thermometer / 100 Meters Water Resist / LED Light with Afterglow / Stopwatch - Countdown timer - Alarm / Black resin band / Silver metal housing / LCD Face
Worth its price (2008-08-11)
Pros:
1. Many functions like world time, temp, tide, moon phase
2. Backlight
3. So far no malfunction in time keeping or any other function (I purchased it 2 months ago)
4. The analog and digital clocks can be set independently.
Cons:
1. The analog clock hands has some fluoroscent paint, but it fluorosces for very short time in dark. So one has to see the time using backlight, which consumes lot of battery power.
2. I synchronized the digital clock with EST one month back but now there is a 10 sec difference!
Pretty good (2008-07-28)
I was a little skeptical about buying this watch because af all the reviews about the thermometer not being accurate, but after I calibrated it, it is within 1 or 2 degrees. As I am typing this, it says 70.8 degrees, and it is 70 degrees in this room. Here are the things I do not like about this watch: The backlight only stays on for about 1-1/2 seconds and it scratches a little too easy. Would I reccomend it? If you are looking for a watch that displays an accurate temperature, then yes. If you are looking for a watch that resists scratches, then no.
Not Bad / Not Great (2008-07-22)
Well ... living in Australia has come with sticker shock ... thus most of my purchases now come from Amazon.com. I purchased this watch because I needed a daily rag tag watch. The locals don't seem to mind paying through the nose ... this watch retails here "down under" in the $150.00 range ... so at $42xx + shipping it's a relative bargain. However, been for warned, yes this a decent "little" watch & I'd have to agree with one other reviewer that, this is a disappointment for being a Casio watch ... it's "value" priced, but, it's very cheap looking & very flimsy. Not that it's a complete waste of money ... but I did recently order a Nike Oregon watch, which was less & looks way better as a watch & at least looks & feels like it can take the punishment of a daily watch.
Thus 3 starts out 5 ...
One Word: Calibrate!! (2008-07-09)
After reading the reviews on here, I was a bit hesitant about buying this watch. I have had other Casio thermometer watches in the past, and was able to calibrate them to the accurate temperature while on my wrist. Despite all the reviews complaining about the inaccuracy of the temp, THIS WATCH IS NO DIFFERENT. All that needs to be done is to get a temp reading with another thermometer, and then program this watch according to the instruction booklet. That's it. It's reading temperature very accurately as I type. Yes, the instruction booklet is complicated (the PDF version from Casio.com is MUCH easier to follow), but it is worth it!
Useful watch (2008-06-24)
I found this watch to be quite useful. Setting the watch does take some effort, but the instruction guide does help explain it fairly well. The thermometer needed a little calibration to work well on my arm. It does take a few minutes to adjust to a temperature change. A nice feature is that the analog watch hands have a light all the time so you can see the time even if it is very dark.
