Great for saving space! (2008-06-09)
I bought these after seeing them in a friend's tiny condominium kitchen...I was able to get rid of a ton of containers that didn't stack neatly. I just kept a few very tiny ones (for salad dressings, etc.) and some very large ones (for cookies & cupcakes), and this replaced the rest. You have to be careful to snap on all four corners of the lid, or else it will leak. But if the lid is on all the way, there's no leaking. Some of my containers have some whitish spots on the inside; not sure if this is from the microwave, dishwasher, or what, but it's not a big deal. None of them have broken. I suppose the spinner wouldn't hold up to much abuse, but unless you're letting little kids play with it, that's not going to be a problem either.

I love that there's only one lid size--eliminates the need to hunt through a cabinet or drawer for a matching lid! Overall, this was a great purchase.

Awesome, worth it, but be aware.... (2008-04-10)
Everyone in my family has this system, and we all love it. But...Be aware...The lids aren't as airtight as one would like, which eliminates using the containers for transporting anything liquid, and things burn when you freeze them. The containers also split after awhile, but there are expander packs that can be purchased. Still and all, I can't imagine life without Smart Spin. I take my meals to work with me every day, and I find the sizes are perfect for leftovers, picnics, etc. The measuring lines on the sides are also extremely helpful.

It would be great if I didn't have to keep putting it back together. I dred getting a container because I know they will spill everywhere because the rack will fall apart.

I LOVE my Smart Spin!!! Honestly, I thought this would be great for the RV when I saw it on TV, but when I first looked at one in person at Target, it looked really cheap and like it would not be good quality "Tupperware" type containers. But then we met some friends in Alaska who had one in their RV and loved it, and I was convinced. I have been so happy with it since we got it!!! The spinner part IS pretty flimsy, but it doesn't really need to be sturdy and works fine - in fact it slides forward for even easier access. I love that all the containers use the same size lid, and I love that the containers all fit easily into my tiny RV refrigerator! And that they all fit nicely into a small storage place and are easy to access. They have volume markings on the sides, so they can be used as measuring cups, too! And I love the lids - even though they can be a little hard to snap on, they have "fingernail guards" so that you can get your whole finger under the edge to snap it off easily. They also STAY on very securely. AND they stack nicely, even in the small RV fridge. These are the *perfect* storage containers for an RV kitchen, though I also did keep some sandwich size containers, and longer flat ones, which are handy for leftover, say, lasagna or enchiladas that won't fit neatly into an upright storage container, but I mostly just use the Smart Spin containers.
